|
This Shabbat, the 10th of Tishrei, (Sept. 22) will be Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. On this most holy and solemn day of the Jewish year, the fate of each individual Jew and the entire Nation of Israel is sealed in Heaven. Manhigut Yehudit wishes its friends and supporters a focused and meaningful day of fasting and prayer.
Next week, the Jewish People will be celebrating the festival of Sukkot -- the most joyous of all the Jewish festivals. Our offices will be closed in honor of the holiday from the 14th of Tishrei until the 25th of Tishrei (Sept. 26 - Oct. 7).
Be sure to visit Moshe Feiglin and the Manhigut Yehudit Open Sukkah next to the Cave of Machpelah in Hebron on Sunday and Monday, Chol Hamoed Sukkot (18 and 19 Tishrei -- Sept. 30 and Oct. 1).
Wishing Israel and the entire world true joy on this holiday!

| Start Heading for the Sukkah |
It seems that the most stable thing today is the temporary dwelling in which Jews live during the festival of Sukkot -- the sukkah. Last year we came face to face with the fact that the seemingly unshakeable foundations of our society were actually sitting on shifting sands: the settlements that we were sure were permanent, the invincible IDF, the Knesset, the courts, the president...and the entire State.
But, in the long Jewish tradition of dealing with instability, we seemed to have gotten used to it. After all, there is a certain sense of stability in knowing that everything is unstable. So now, after we had come to rely on the fact that the government fails on all fronts, we hear media reports of a breathtakingly successful IDF maneuver in Syria.
Should we rejoice? Should we be skeptical? Is the government not so bad after all?
First of all, we must thank G-d for the success of our brave soldiers in Syria, which likely saved countless lives. But on the other hand, we must remember that pirates have captured our national ship and have taken all of us captive. Right now, the pirates are busy with Syria and other worries. The captives in the hold of the ship are pleased to see the pirates dealing with a threat common to us all. But we must beware of the pirates and their schemes to destroy our national ship.
On Yom Kippur, let us pray that the pirates will defeat our enemies and lose in the battle against the Nation of Israel -- no simple request. And then, on the festival of Sukkot, let us head directly to the most stable place on earth -- the sukkah. On this holiday, the Jewish Nation gathers under the wings of G-d's holy Presence, the Shechinah. The Nation of Israel is eternal, just as its connection to its Land through its Torah is eternal. The other, temporal connections do not hold up.
We must make sure that after the holiday, we will not scatter in all directions, abandoning our nation to G-dless leadership. We are at the threshold of a tumultuous year. We cannot allow ourselves to return to the familiar model of Right wing leadership carrying out the policies of the extreme Left. This year, we must act decisively to create Jewish leadership for Israel.
In Israeli reality, politics is the tool with which to reach out to the people and to create alternative leadership. That is why Manhigut Yehudit is in politics. The only way to provide Israel with Jewish leadership within the political framework is through the Likud. That is why we are in the Likud.
Our political standing in the Likud is better than ever. Now is the time to sign up for the Likud, and register your family and friends.

"I would like you to explain to me why I should register for the Likud," someone approached me in Tel Aviv. "After all, we know that the Supreme Court will disqualify your candidacy one way or the other."
"I will answer you after you register," I told him.
"Look," I continued. "I have an answer to your question, but I am not sure that my answer really interests you. If, G-d forbid, you were searching for a cure for a seriously ill family member, and they would tell you that registering for the Likud would somehow help, would you wait until I answer all your questions and doubts? And if, G-d forbid, the rabbis now pondering if it is ethical to register for the Likud were in a similar position, do you think they would continue to argue the fine points of the issue?"
"There is only one movement that is dealing with the source of the problem on the political plane," I continued. "That movement has proven that it is serious and that it is growing stronger. One quarter of the Likud has voted for it in the recent primaries. And you are still not convinced?"
Could it be that we have simply become comfortable with the constant crisis situation? Why is it so difficult to pay 64 shekels annually toward a focused solution to the problem? When Manhigut Yehudit wins the elections, with G-d's help, the elites currently controlling Israel may be significantly weakened, as has already happened to the Supreme Court. Isn't it worth a try? Does anybody have a better solution?
If we really wanted to win, we would have done so long ago.
But the Supreme Court Will Disqualify You!
It's a good thing that the founding fathers of the Likud -- the people who served in the undergrounds -- didn't fall for this type of argument when they faced much more serious challenges. It's a good thing that Ben Gurion didn't fall for this type of argument when he declared the independent State of Israel. It's a good thing that Begin didn't fall for this type of argument when he faced the intimidating Mapai establishment during his long years in the Opposition.
It is not only the Supreme Court that will make every effort t to block our way. The entire establishment and its mechanisms will do so. They are already doing it. Thank G-d, until now they have failed. The power of those who oppose us is not greater than the power of the Soviet Empire. It is important to understand that every mechanism based on falsehood has only limited time. We do not know how long that time is, but one thing is clear: the mechanisms of falsehood are sustained by our despair. It is not a question of Manhigut Yehudit or Moshe Feiglin. If somebody else picks up where we are forced to leave off, does that mean that we have the right to stop now?
The question is if the belief-based public really wants the Jewish majority alternative. The question is if the belief-based public is dreaming the leadership dream. The question is if the belief-based public genuinely wants to win!
To make the dream a tangible reality, we have to take it beyond the parameters of articles and ideas and translate it into practical terms. It could be that a particular course of action will be blocked. So what? We will simply use a different method. But the sum of all the practical struggles creates a new consciousness -- belief-based consciousness. At a certain point, the new consciousness will replace the collapsing falsehood and it won't really matter if the Supreme Court will allow it or not. All the dilemmas and doubts will be completely irrelevant.
The great victory will surely come. It will ride on a strong wave of belief-based public support. And the resistance to it will evaporate.

| 5768: The Year of Loyalty: By Moshe Feiglin |
|
Translated from Israel's NRG website.
28 Elul, 5767 Sept. 11, 07
Hopefully, in 5768, we will be more loyal.
We will be loyal to our children: Less television and more of our own time. Less internet and more education. Less knives and more love.
We will be loyal to our spouses.
We will be loyal to our brother, Jonathon Pollard, who saved us and has paid for it with 22 years in a US prison.
We will be loyal to our communities; we will take responsibility for our neighbors in need.
We will be loyal to our nation. We will not assimilate; we will not blur our identity or forsake our children's education. We will not cause our nation to despair; we will not steal its land or property, exploit its poor, distort its justice, expel its children and destroy their homes, or desert the residents of the border towns or mixed cities.
In 5768 we will be loyal to our Land. We will not forsake the Temple Mount -- the heart of the nation -- to the Moslem wakf. We will not surrender more parts of our homeland to the enemy. We will not pollute the air, the land or the water. We will not destroy our natural resources. We will leave the box-like apartments of Israel's Center and make the Negev, Galilee, Judea and Samaria flourish.
We will be loyal to our state. We will not abandon it to leaders who are incapable of explaining to their children why they should live here at all.
We will be loyal to our brothers in captivity. If Gilad Shalit is still captive, Gaza will lack more than just cigarettes.
We will be loyal to our soldiers. We will not free terrorists who our soldiers risked their lives to apprehend. We will not give weapons to terrorists and then send our soldiers to fight them. We will not send our troops into Gaza so that they can retreat, re-enter, retreat, re-enter and retreat again. We will teach our enemies that it is not worthwhile to take captives. We will not send our soldiers to expel their brothers from their homes.
In 5768 we will be loyal to ourselves. We will understand that everything begins and ends with us. We will realize that world pressure does not create the conflict between us, but rather that the conflict between us invites world pressure.
In 5768 we will let the world wait a bit, and channel our energy inward. Not to solve our problems with the world, but to solve our problems with ourselves. When we finish, we will see that suddenly, our problems with the world have deflated.
With G-d's help, 5768 will be a good year; a year of loyalty.

| Women in Combat Units and Inverted Values: By Moshe Feiglin |
|
A committee established by Head of IDF Personnel Major General Elazar Stern, decided this week (as expected) to include women soldiers in all military combat units and under all circumstances.
This is not surprising. When women were first included in combat units a number of years ago, Moshe Feiglin wrote to the heads of the Religious Zionist hesder yeshivas and stated that if they do not establish an ultimatum against introducing women into combat units, they would also not direct their students to refuse orders to expel their fellow Jews that came a few years later. And that is exactly what happened. Those religious soldiers who received authorization from their rabbis to serve in combat with women soldiers eventually also received directives from the same rabbis to expel their brothers from their homes.
Just as the expulsion from Gush Katif became a value in and of itself -- detached from any reason, so the inclusion of women in combat units has also become a value detached from any military or security benefit.
The following article, from Moshe Feiglin's book, "The War of Dreams," was written in 2001, when the issue of women in combat units first arose.
Women in Combat Units and Inverted Values: By Moshe Feiglin
24 Av, 5761 August 13, 2001
Between a slaughter in a pizza shop and a massacre in a coffee shop, between shootings on the roads of Yesha, shootings in Jerusalem and rockets on the settlements of Gush Katif, the State of Israel has been occupied in the last few weeks with the question of women's service in combat units. A stranger would not understand. Don't the Israelis have enough troubles? Why are they bringing another trouble on themselves? But in truth, it is all the same trouble. It is all the same disease.
The State of Israel has entered a sort of values vertigo. The heavens are the earth, the earth is the heavens, good is evil and evil is good. The most obvious expression of this vertigo was Rabin's handshake with Arafat on the White House lawn. That handshake seated all the Israelis on the defendant's bench in the International Crimes Court at The Hague. It implied Israel's recognition of the legitimacy of the struggle of the Palestinian Liberation Organization -- the organization that strives to liberate "Palestine" from the yoke of the Jewish occupation. In other words, that handshake created the Palestinian nation, recognized the fact that it has a homeland in the Land of Israel, that this homeland is occupied by the Zionist colonialist conquerors and that the terrorists are really freedom fighters -- necessarily making the Israelis war criminals.
The criminals who perpetrated Oslo rode upon the vehicle of post-modern/feminist philosophy. To understand this on a deeper level, we have to understand the forces at work here. On the most basic level, what is happening in Israel is a war between life and death. Good, morality and life -- are one. Evil and death also embrace each other.
"Behold, I have set before you today life and goodness, and death and evil." (Deuteronomy 30:15)
There is good and there is evil -- and not as the pagan post-modernism would have us believe. There is life and there is death. Life is created by separation of the sexes, and not as feminism would have us believe.
Life is created by separation. The cell divides, differentiates and develops. The primordial default is death and confusion. In the beginning, there was chaos and disorder and darkness on the face of the abyss. Then the Creator of life began to make separations: between light and darkness, between the sea and the dry land, between animals and humans, between men and women and between the nations of the world and the Jewish People.
Life is not static. In order to preserve life, we must always invest energy in making separations. Every mother knows that the natural condition of the house is "a mess" and how much energy must be invested on a constant basis to preserve the separation that transforms the mess into a living and functioning household. Death pulls us inexorably toward its depths. Materials that are not separated will mix together. If we want to keep them alive, we must invest energy to separate them. Chaos and disorder, the blurring of distinctions, the pagan enticement to give in to the whirlpool that draws the world down to its death -- are all forces that the Nation of Israel must face.
These forces of death always wrap themselves in an enlightened and preening cloak. They present themselves as the pure beauty of life. They speak in the name of order and civilization. But in truth, they serve chaos and disorder, darkness and death.
"Why did you insist on ruling that two men constitute a family?" Chief Justice Barak was asked. "If the homosexual partner is eligible for compensation, you could have awarded it to him on a regular contractual basis. Why mix laws of matrimony into the ruling?" In typical dictatorial fashion, Chief Justice Barak felt no need to explain. It is unlikely that he himself understands the forces that motivate him. But in essence, he uses all the dictatorial tools that he has created in order to foster confusion. Confusion of values, confusion of sexual identity, confusion of the family unit, confusion of our national identity, confusion of our territorial borders, confusion of separation and return to chaos, disorder and death.
What motivated the woman soldier who wanted to be a combat pilot to appeal to the Supreme Court? Was it a rare outburst of love for her homeland? Was it eternal Zionism? Or was it the desire to express herself as a man -- the best that feminist confusion has to offer?
It was clear from the very start that the Supreme Court would cooperate with her in full. Its ruling broke down the very last separation of the sexes that still existed in the IDF. It makes no difference that women soldiers in combat units critically reduce the operational abilities of the unit -- a fact that has been proven in other armies that have already reneged on the preposterous idea. Trash the IDF, crush the State -- the main thing is that we achieve our goal. We will take advantage of the young women's desire to contribute to the State and channel it for our purposes. We will take advantage of the most respected Israeli value, the security ethos -- the basic survival instinct that remains the last justification for the existence of the nation of Holocaust remnants -- and use it to drag this confused and tormented nation down into the whirlpool of chaos, disorder and death.
And where do the rabbis come in?
"Did I do the right thing?" the brave woman soldier, Chani Abramov asked the Chief Rabbi who came to visit her in the hospital. Did the institutional rabbi think that she was asking his medical opinion? Deep down, she felt the pain of falsehood that added to the pain of her shattered face. The Rabbi mumbled a few word of encouragement and left. Did he understand the issue?
The Ultra-Orthodox rabbis have no problem. Their forecasts were precise and they can rub their hands in affected sorrow as they wait for Zionism to self-destruct. In the end, though, all the Jews get thrown into the pits of death together.
And where are the Zionist rabbis, heads of the hesder yeshivas and the NRP? How can they accept this situation? They are in Zionist captivity. Their self-imposed dependence on Zionism does not allow them to understand the destructive process that is taking place here. Their arguments against the service of women in combat units are truly humiliating.
The Leftist broadcasters have a field day with every stuttering rabbi who explains his opposition to women serving in combat units because it makes it too difficult for the male soldiers to concentrate on their mission. "Aha!" the broadcasters rejoice. "What kind of thoughts do you have in your heads? This is solid proof that when you separate between the sexes, it creates even more severe problems. Separation is death. Chaos and confusion are life. If it is difficult for you, dear rabbis, to face women in combat units and to continue to abide by Jewish law -- no problem. We will create religious reservations for you. Don't worry, we'll work it all out." |

Sounding the Alarm Over The Destruction Of The Temple Mount By: 5 Towns Jewish Tribune Staff
Published: Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007
Tekiah! Second Temple Is Being Destroyed! Shevarim! Olmert gave permission! Teruah! Jews are silent! Tekiah! We must cry out.
Manhigut Yehudit, the Jewish Leadership faction of the Likud, is sounding the alarm as the Arab Waqf (Islamic Authority)with permission from the Israeli government of Ehud Olmert has been destroying the Jewish People's holiest site, the Temple Mount and the actual Second Temple located just under the surface of the Mount, by digging a trench across the Temple Mount and trying to destroy all evidence of our 3,500-year claim to the Divinely given Land of Israel.
This atrocity is occurring now, and the Jewish silence from all corners of the globe is deafening! The spiritually bankrupt, faithless Israeli Olmert government is gladly permitting, in the name of the false peace of the Oslo Accords and its successors, the amputation of these vital limbs of the Jewish people by letting the Arabs destroy our most sacred site.
Jews everywhere must unite to stop this unspeakable act of desecration. Moshe Feiglin, president of Manhigut Yehudit, has stated that this action is a thousand times worse than if the Western Wall were being torn down, as the Western Wall is only a retaining wall, built by Herod, of the Temple Mount.
During these Days of Judgment, no one would want to be in the shoes of those Israeli leaders who both permitted this atrocity or of those who could stop it but do nothing. It is incumbent on every Jew to protest and to pray to end this destruction of our history and our identity, and thereby to save nothing less than the future of our people.
