Misplaced Love |
|
Snakes
bite. That is how G-d created them. I may not have many complaints
against snakes, but I certainly do have complaints against those
people who set them loose in our living room, in Jerusalem, next to
our children, poring over their holy books.
One of the leaders of the process that brought this catastrophe upon
us, Education Minister Yuli Tamir, had the audacity this week to pay a
visit to the people bitten by the snake. No, she did not enter on her
tiptoes, begging for forgiveness for her stupidity and wickedness. She
entered the building as if her policies had nothing to do with the
terror attack. Her demeanor and words demonstrated that she intends to
continue to release snakes in our living room, that she sees no
connection between her actions and their results and that she takes no
responsibility for her deeds. The welcome and honor that she received
in the yeshiva give her the legitimacy that she needs to continue.
Thankfully, a number of Jews got up and shouted at the Minister. Because
crying is not the only natural and right thing to do in the face of
tragic loss of life. Revenge is also a natural response - possibly
even more so. The pursuit of justice, the desire to perfect the world
and the desire to break the ‘political correctness’ that continues to
devour our children are also logical and natural needs of any person
or collective.
Those people who give the snake releasers the feeling that their lofty
status is assured - despite the fact that they plan to release more
snakes - perpetuate the crisis, even if their motivation is love of
Israel.
Before the sensitive and determined pogrom that Omri Sharon and his
cohorts perpetrated against the lovers of the Land of Israel, we tried
to convince him and his father that the planned expulsion would
trigger a struggle that would make their plans counterproductive. “We
know the settlers,” Omri said. “They won’t fight.”
Sadly, Omri was right. The process of destruction was temporarily
halted in Amona because the seeds of a true struggle began to sprout
there. But in Gush Katif, the ‘We will triumph with love’ theory was
still the order of the day. This misplaced ‘love’ lies behind the fact
that Minister Tamir was invited to visit the Merkaz Harav yeshivah.

| The
Vanished Hero |
Rabbi
Yitzchak Dadon is a Jew who has not been confused by the misplaced
love theories. That is why he did the right thing at the right time,
attacked the terrorist and put two bullets in his head. But then he
made a major media blunder. The two religious reporters of Israel’s
television stations enthusiastically interviewing the hero of the
evening in a live broadcast got more than they bargained for. Rabbi
Dadon insisted on associating the massacre in the yeshiva with Shimon
Peres - the man who armed the terrorists, and with Ehud Olmert, who
has picked up where Peres left off. The two reporters quickly cut
Rabbi Dadon off, attempting to censor the forbidden words that the
post-Oslo Jew dared utter.
The media was in a bind. The story’s hero didn’t learn his lines and
said all the wrong things. But they quickly found a solution.
IDF Captain David Shapira, the yeshiva graduate who continued to shoot
the terrorist after Dadon had already severely wounded or possibly
killed him, became the new hero. He was perfect for the part. He is
still serving in the army and so cannot give interviews and say
embarrassing forbidden truths in live national news broadcasts.
By the way, Dadon’s healthy Jewish instincts had led him long ago to
register for the ruling party of the National Camp - the Likud.
Please join us
for a memorial service for the eight fallen yeshiva boys and a salute
to Rabbi Dadon and Captain David Shapira this Tuesday, 11 Adar II
(March 18) at the Jerusalem Renaissance Hotel at 6:30 p.m. The two
heroes will be presented with certificates of honor. We look forward
to seeing you there!

Remember History: By Moshe Feiglin |
|
30 Adar I, 5768
March 7, ‘08
This
Shabbat, Jews throughout the world will read the Torah portion, Zachor, in
which we are commanded to remember Amalek and his evil schemes to obliterate
the Nation of Israel. But currently, Israel is in the throes of a desperate
attempt to erase its history. In doing so, it has lost its internal
reference point, leaving it completely dependant on its enemies. Without
Judaism, we have no right to be here. We are nothing more than foreigners
occupying the land of the Hamas, who are simply fighting a war of
independence.
Those who had mistakenly assumed that Israel’s leadership was beginning to
understand reality received a chilling wake-up call last week from Israel’s
president. “Why do we need to learn history?” Shimon Peres stumped for
Education Minister Yuli Tamir’s educational methodology. “Everything is in
the computer, anyway.”
I do not think that there is another leader in the world who would dare make
such a foolish and dangerous remark. No nation, no matter how young and
remote, would demonstrate such blatant scorn for the history of the world
and its own, national history. But the king of the Jews - the president of
the country that claims to represent the most ancient nation in the world -
wants to stop our children from learning history. After all, everything is
in the computer and can be easily accessed with the press of a button.
Technically, Peres is correct. The problem is that if history - the
foundation on which our culture, heritage and justification for existing in
the land rests - is in the computer and not in our heads and hearts, we will
have no idea what we are doing here, why we should stay here and suffer, and
certainly not why we should fight for this land.
“I hate history,” Peres explains, completely negating the Divine directive
to remember history. Everything is in the computer. “And anyway,” he
continues, “we live in a world in which territory has no significance.”
The entire post-modern ideology in which everything is virtual is
personified by the president of the State of the Jews. Nothing is real
anymore. The Land is virtual, the Kassams are nothing more than “Shmasams”
as Peres called them and Israel’s policy is nothing more than a spin. In
other words, reality is the amount of time that a given item stays in the
headlines. Nothing else has any significance. Even pain is no longer real.
Luckily for Israel’s leaders, the two soldiers who unnecessarily died in the
IDF’s meaningless venture in Gaza last week were killed and not captured.
Otherwise, we would have been forced to remember them. Now that they have
died, they are nothing more than their mothers’ problem.
Shimon Peres and the rest of the Oslo priests have enslaved us in a language
and mentality that have made our reality meaningless. How can we stop the
missiles from being fired on Israel when so many of its streets and
structures are named after Rabin - the person who, more than anyone,
symbolizes the process that has brought this catastrophe upon us?
Israel must free itself of the Oslo mentality. The key is to keep the
memories in our heads and hearts - not in our computers.

Feiglin Not Interested in Flying to England |
|
After publication of the British Home
Office letter barring Moshe Feiglin from entering England, Manhigut Yehudit
has received tens of indignant expressions of support from the entire Jewish
world. Currently, Moshe Feiglin is the only politician in Israel who has
merited this privilege. "The British, who completely succumbed to extreme
Muslim violence, have apparently identified the man most significant to the
struggle against this spreading evil," Moshe Feiglin commented on Israel’s
Channel 10.
In response to the Home Office letter, Moshe Feiglin wrote as follows:
25 Adar I, 5768
March 3, ‘08
To the British Government
Home Office
Border and Immigration Agency
Dear
Sirs,
Two months ago, I received a letter from your office in which you stated
that I am not welcome in your country. As I was under the impression that
the letter was a practical joke, I attempted to clarify its authenticity
before I replied. Now that I have ascertained that the letter is indeed
authentic, I wish to make a few points:
1. I did not request entry into Britain and I have no immediate plans to do
so.
2. It would be proper to investigate the reasons for this strange initiative
against a political figure in Israel. This initiative constitutes yet
another example of European interference in Israel’s internal affairs.
3. Being that infamous terrorists such as Ibrahim Moussaui of the Hizbollah
are actually most welcome in Britain, while I -- who have never harmed
anyone - am not, I understand that your policy is to encourage and support
terror.
4. As is clarified in your letter, the basis for your decision is material
that I had written years ago citing the necessity to fight Arab terrorists
and my analysis of the culture from which terror grows. Among other facts,
you quote my article in which I wrote that "The Arab is not the son of the
desert, but rather, its father."
For your information, that quote was taken directly from the book "The
Desert Yesterday and Today" written by none other than British High
Commissioner of Sinai, Sir Claude Jarvis in 1938.
5. Considering the moral depths to which your nation has sunk, I find your
letter most complimentary. It is a great honor for me to join the
illustrious list of former prime ministers of Israel, Menachem Begin and
Yitzchak Shamir, who also received similar letters from your offices.
Sincerely,
Moshe Feiglin

Oslo
Mentality Can’t Stop Rocket Fire
( 4 Adar, 5768 - March 11, ‘08)
In response to PM Olmert’s remarks that
it is not possible to stop the missile fire on Ashkelon, Moshe Feiglin
commented as follows: "As long as Olmert or any other person still
entrenched in Oslo mentality remains in a position of influence in Israel,
it will certainly not be possible to stop the missile fire on Ashkelon. The
rocket range will simply expand until it reaches every corner of our
country."
Government Charges Man to Cover Up Worse Crimes
( 6 Adar, 5768 - March 13, ‘08)
In response to the charges against an Israeli man for selling food to terror
organizations in Gaza, Likud Central Committee member Michael Fuah says that
charging the man is ridiculous. "The charges are a cynical attempt by the
Israeli government to hide the fact that it supplies the terror
organizations not only with food, but with money and even weapons with which
many Jews have been murdered," said Fuah. "The Knesset must urgently pass
the Gaza Disengagement Law that will mandate a penalty of three years in
prison for any person who helps the population or authorities in Gaza in any
way."

| Torah
Sparks: Zachor |

There is a mitzvah in the Torah to remember Amalek and his descendants and
to orally recall their iniquity. We are to tell our children in each
generation what the people of Amalek did to us during our departure from
Egypt. This mitzvah will be fulfilled completely only when we shall have
caused Amalek's memory to perish, and their name to be erased from the
world, together with the slightest remnant of anything that bears their
name. As the Torah says: 'Remember what Amalek did to you on the way, upon
your departure from Egypt'... 'You shall erase the memory of Amalek from
beneath the heavens, you shall not forget.' Upon which the Sages have
expounded: 'Remember,' orally - 'You shall not forget,' in your heart.
