“Firearms must be in the hands of civilians - not in the hands of the murderers,” said MK Moshe Feiglin after Tuesday’s terror attack.
“This past summer, I battled in the Knesset Interior Committee against Internal Security Minister Aharonovitz’s plan to reduce the number of civilians authorized to carry weapons. He had introduced a bill that would require every firearm owner to undergo a psychiatric examination. I managed to convince the Interior Committee members that Aharonovitz’s plan would be a serious mistake. The bill was changed and now, honest citizens with firearms may continue to carry their weapons and react in case of a terror attack,” Feiglin continued.
Feiglin said that ‘the next urgent step is to relax the firearms licensing procedure for Israel’s honest and loyal civilians. I will continue to work for Israel’s security and the liberty of its citizens,” he promised.
