Moshe Feiglin: Appointment of Nitzan as State’s Attorney Dangerous for Israel

Newly appointed State’s Attorney Shai Nitzan and his Department for Special Duties in the State’s Attorney’s office are more dangerous than organized crime. Crime in the name of the law is far more destructive than organized crime can ever be. Nitzan’s appointment is appalling, and undermines the State of Israel. A small time criminal commits his crime against the law. An intermediate criminal circumvents the law. But a truly major criminal commits his crime in the name of the law. The Department for Special Duties in the State Attorney’s office is organized state crime. It is a political department of the State’s Attorney’s offices. At least 99% of its activity is directed at a very specific part of the public. This organization is a moral danger to Israel.

Shai Nitzan was not appointed State’s Attorney because somebody in the government loves him or thinks that he has spectacular professional talent. He was appointed because the politicians are afraid of the offices of the State’s Attorney.
