Moshe Feiglin: Re-institute Separate Buses for Jews and Arabs to Improve Security

The Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee deliberated on the bus situation in Judea and Samaria. The buses are bullet proof, and many of them are veterans of terror attacks. Simple logic dictates that if you make a bus bullet proof from the outside, you shouldn’t allow the people who produce the terrorists to enter the buses and carry out their evil plans inside.
Originally, there were separate bus lines for Arabs and Jews. But then a mighty cry arose, and the ghost of the separate buses in America’s south in the 60’s was summoned, Israel was blamed with being an aprtheid regime and worse - as if in the US the blacks were daily shooting the whites.
Of course, the demagogic demand was met, Arabs, including those without permits to work within the green line, are allowed on the buses and bus travel for Jews has become intolerable; complete with sexual harassment, bullying, threats and much more. Jews in Samaria don’t use the buses anymore - except for the elderly, who cannot hitch-hike.

Moshe, as a friend and solid supporter of yours, I have to say that I disagree with you on this.
Racial segregation is a violation of human rights, period.
If there’s a security problem on buses, then beef up the security of the buses. By all means, profile people for your security checks. But denying Arabs access to “Jewish-only” buses is no better than denying Jews access to “Jew-free” buses.
