Moshe Feiglin: Israel Buying Quiet Now at Expense of Future

“Will we remember what we learned during this summer vacation?” asked MK Moshe Feiglin on the first day of school in Israel. “Will we remember that we shouldn’t leave hot coals for 10 year olds to douse 8 years down the line?”
“The ‘experts’ say that the Second Lebanon War has brought Israel quiet for the past eight years,” Feiglin added. “They even present this as responsible statesmanship. But we are buying quiet now at the expense of the coming generations, who will have to deal with a significant deterioration of Israel’s strategic position. Since Israel fled Lebanon in 2000, tens of thousands of Hezbollah missiles – some of them precision missiles – have been placed on our doorstep as an Iranian deterrent measure. We received a strategic gift from our predecessors. But we are borrowing more and more on credit from our small children. Pay day will be painful.”
